Hearst is a small town located in the Ontario province of Canada. In 2006, about 5,620 people lived there. The mayor of Hearst is Roger Sigouin.

Hearst was started in 1913. It grew because a new railway, the National Transcontinental Railway, was being built. The town was named after William Howard Hearst. He was an important person in Ontario's government. He worked as the Minister of Forests and Mines and later became the Premier of Ontario.
