Heart Lake is a lovely lake found in the northwestern part of Minnesota, a state in the United States. It's located in Clearwater County. This lake is not far from Lake Itasca, which is famous. Many people believe Lake Itasca is where the mighty Mississippi River officially begins its long journey!

Heart Lake covers an area of about 206 acres (which is about 83 hectares). To give you an idea, one hectare is roughly the size of a soccer field. So, it's a pretty good-sized lake!
Lake Details
The deepest part of Heart Lake goes down about 55 feet (or 17 meters). Imagine stacking about ten average-sized bikes on top of each other; that's how deep it is! The lake also has about 3.5 miles of shoreline. This is the edge where the water meets the land. Most of this shoreline is surrounded by private cabins. These are homes where people live or go for vacations by the lake.
