Heiderscheid facts for kids
Heiderscheid (pronounced "HIGH-der-shyde") was once a small town, or what's called a commune, in the country of Luxembourg. It was located in an area known as the Wiltz canton. A commune is like a local government area, similar to a small district or municipality.
A New Beginning: Merging Communes
On January 1, 2012, Heiderscheid joined together with another nearby commune called Neunhausen. This merger created a brand new, larger commune named Esch-sur-Sûre. This kind of change happens when towns decide to combine their resources and administration. It helps them work together more efficiently.
