Heinz Schneiter was a famous football player and manager from Switzerland. He was born on April 12, 1935, in a town called Thun. He played for the Swiss national team and later coached some well-known football clubs. He passed away on July 6, 2017, when he was 82 years old.

Playing for Switzerland

Heinz Schneiter was a very important player for the Swiss national football team. He played in 44 international games, which are called "caps," and scored 3 goals for his country.

He also played in two big tournaments called the FIFA World Cup. He played in all three games for Switzerland at the 1962 World Cup. He even scored a goal against West Germany in that tournament! Four years later, he also played in the 1966 World Cup.

Coaching Football Teams

After his playing career, Heinz Schneiter became a football manager. He coached two well-known Swiss football clubs: FC Thun and BSC Young Boys.
