Since he started his career, Hemal has been known as one of Sri Lanka's most loved actors. He has won many awards for his acting. These include 'Best Actor' and 'Most Popular Actor'. About Hemal's Life

Hemal Sachindra Ranasinghe was born in Matale, Sri Lanka. He has two older brothers and one younger brother. His mother, Vishaka Chithrangani Mediwaka, is an Ayurvedic Specialist. His father, Senarathne Ranasinghe, was also an Ayurvedic Specialist. Hemal went to St Thomas' College, Matale for his schooling.

Hemal has shared that both his parents supported his choice to become an actor. He also knows a lot about Martial Arts. He says these skills help him in his acting roles even today.

Hemal's Acting Journey

Hemal's first movie was Super Six in 2012. He won a special award at the Sarasaviya Awards in 2016. He also won "The Most Popular Actor of the Year 2016" at the Fourth Derana Film Awards. This was for his role in the movie Pravegaya. He also won the Most Popular Actor award at the Hiru Golden Film Award for the same movie.

Hemal also hosted a TV show called Ayemath Adaren on Hiru TV. He acted in one TV drama series called "Eelangata Mokada Wenne". This show was on Independent Television Network from 2014 to 2015. In 2009, Hemal took part in "The Model of the World" competition in Spain. He won the main title, 'Male Model of the World 2009'. He also won awards for 'Best Glamour' and 'Best Catwalk'.

In 2010, Hemal won the title of Mr. Sri Lanka. He then represented Sri Lanka at Mister World 2010 in Korea. He regularly takes part in big fashion shows like Colombo Fashion Week.
