History of Hemlock
Hemlock was first settled by people in 1865. A few years later, in 1869, a post office was opened there, and it was called "Hemlock City." Later, in 1895, the name was made shorter to just "Hemlock."
Sawdust Days Festival
Every September, Hemlock has a special yearly festival called Sawdust Days. This festival began in the late 1970s. It started after a local hardware store had a fun event with chainsaws and demonstrations.
