History of Hendley
Hendley got its name in 1887. This happened when a railroad company built a new train line through a small settlement that had been there since the 1870s. That older settlement was called Lyndon.
A post office opened in Hendley in 1888. Even today, you can still find a post office service in the village. It's inside a small convenience store on the corner of Grant Avenue and 3rd Street.
