In 1599, he was made a knight, which was a special honor given by the Queen.

Later Years and the Civil War

From 1629, the King ruled without Parliament for eleven years. During this time, Sir Henry Wallop had to serve a second term as High Sheriff of Hampshire.

When Parliament was called back in 1640, he was again elected as an MP for Hampshire. He supported the Parliamentarian side, who were against the King, as the Civil War was about to begin. However, Sir Henry Wallop died in 1642 at the age of 74, before he could take an active part in the war.
