Henry Weale VC (2 October 1897 – 13 January 1959) was a brave Welsh soldier. He received the Victoria Cross, which is the highest award for courage in the face of the enemy. This special medal is given to soldiers from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries.
He was 20 years old when he showed amazing bravery during the First World War. At that time, he was a Lance-Corporal in the 14th Battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. This was a part of the British Army. His actions during the war earned him the Victoria Cross.
After the war, Henry Weale continued his service. He later achieved the rank of sergeant. Today, an Army Reserve centre in Queensferry, North Wales is named the Henry Weale VC Hall in his honor. He was born in Shotton, Flintshire and is buried in Rhyl. In 2010, a special memorial garden was opened in Shotton to remember Henry Weale.
