Heriot is a small village located in the Moorfoot Hills in Scotland. It lies southeast of Edinburgh. Heriot is part of Eildon, which is a section of the Scottish Borders council area. Historically, it was part of Midlothian.

The village has about 150 homes. It covers a large area of moorland, which is open land with heather and grass. This area is about 50 square miles (130 square kilometers).

Heriot's Railway Past
