The Hermitage of Santa Anna is an old religious building near the city of Xàtiva in València, Spain. It was built a very long time ago, in the 15th century!

To get to this special place, you need to go through the nearby town of La Llosa de Ranes. Then, you take a path called the Baños way. This path goes up a cone-shaped hill that belongs to Xàtiva. From the top of this hill, you can see amazing views! You can look out over the fields around Xàtiva, the city itself, and its old castles. If you look south, you'll see the mountains of Mariola, Aitana, and Benicadell. To the north, there's the riverside of Xúquer, and to the west, you can even spot the Mediterranean Sea and the region of Castile.

History of the Hermitage

The Hermitage of Santa Anna is one of the more modern old buildings in Xàtiva. It is special because it has a unique style called Gothic-Flemish. This hermitage was built in the middle of the 15th century. Later, some parts were added, like a high choir and a beautiful starry ceiling. A famous person named Rodrigo Borgia helped with some of this later work.

The building has a rectangular shape. It has strong supports on the outside called buttresses. Inside, the main part of the building has three sections with arched ceilings. These sections are separated by large arches. The walls have special supports that hold up the arches.

Sadly, many parts of the original property are now gone. There are still some remains of the stables and the old entrance gate. But the hermit's house, the guest house, the stairs to the choir, and the walls and roofs of the porch have disappeared over time.
