What is Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme?
Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme is a flat, white candy bar. It has small, dark cookie pieces mixed into the white creme. The regular bar has 12 blocks. You can break them apart easily.
There is also a bigger version called the XL bar. It is thicker and has 16 blocks. In 2010, Hershey's also made similar candies called Hershey's Drops. These were small, bite-sized pieces.
In 2020, new flavors came out in Canada. These included Strawberries 'N' Creme and Cookies 'N' Mint. The Strawberries 'N' Creme was a flavor that had been released before, in 2005.
Special Editions and Where to Find Them
For the July 4th holiday, Hershey's made a special version. It had a wrapper with red, white, and blue colors. They did this again for Independence Day in 2021.
The packaging for the bar has also changed over time. It used to be all white. Now, it is a cream color with blue designs on the sides. Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme is one of the few Hershey's chocolate bars you can buy in the United Kingdom.
Why the Recipe Changed
In 2008, The Hershey Company updated some of its candy recipes. They wanted to use different oils instead of cocoa butter. Cocoa butter can be quite expensive.
Because of this change, the packaging no longer says the bar contains "white chocolate." This is because "white chocolate" has specific rules about how much cocoa butter it must contain.
What's Inside: Ingredients
The main ingredients in Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme include sugar and different vegetable oils. These oils can be from palm oil, shea, or sunflower. The bar also contains nonfat milk and corn syrup solids.
You will also find enriched wheat flour and milkfat. Other ingredients include cocoa, whey (from milk), and a little bit of chocolate. There are also flavors, both natural and artificial, and salt.
