Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! is an animated musical comedy film from 1964. It was made by Hanna-Barbera Productions and released by Columbia Pictures. This movie features the voices of famous actors like Daws Butler and Don Messick.

The film is based on the popular TV show The Yogi Bear Show. It was the very first full-length movie made by Hanna-Barbera for cinemas. It was also the first animated movie based on a television show! While the TV show used simple animation, the movie had more detailed drawings.

The Story of Yogi Bear!

The movie begins with Boo-Boo Bear waking up for spring. He is very excited. Then Yogi Bear wakes up, but he only cares about finding food. Cindy Bear tries to get Yogi's attention, but he is too busy thinking about snacks.

Yogi's Big Trick

Ranger Smith stops Yogi from stealing food again. Yogi gets mad and convinces the Ranger to send him away from Jellystone National Park. Ranger Smith plans to send Yogi to the San Diego Zoo. Yogi says goodbye to everyone. But then, he tricks another bear named Corn Pone into going to California instead of him! Boo-Boo and Cindy do not know about this. They think Yogi has really left.

Soon, Yogi starts stealing food all over the park. He calls himself "The Brown Phantom." Ranger Smith thinks it is a different bear. He warns that whoever is stealing will be sent to the zoo. Cindy wants to be with Yogi at the zoo. She makes Ranger Smith angry on purpose, hoping he will send her there too.

Cindy Gets Lost

However, Cindy is sent to the St. Louis Zoo by train instead. The San Diego Zoo did not need any more bears. Cindy gets very sad when she realizes she is going to the wrong place. She knows she will be far from Yogi.

Late that night, Cindy accidentally falls off the train. She gets lost all alone. Meanwhile, a traveling circus called the Chizzling Brothers needs a new act. Their dog, Mugger, runs off and scares Cindy. She ends up walking on telephone wires! The circus owners think this is the perfect act for their show.

Yogi and Boo-Boo's Search

Yogi starts to miss Boo-Boo and especially Cindy. He talks to Ranger Smith and learns that Cindy is missing. So, Yogi and Boo-Boo sneak out of Jellystone to find her. Ranger Smith decides to let them go. He hopes they will find their way home without causing more trouble.

After a long journey, Yogi and Boo-Boo find Cindy. She is being held by the Chizzling Brothers circus. They are forcing her to perform her high-wire act. Yogi confronts the circus manager, Grifter Chizzling. But Grifter tricks Yogi into joining Cindy in her cage! Grifter tells Yogi he is now part of the "show biz."

The Escape and Journey Home

Boo-Boo helps Yogi and Cindy escape from the cage. As they try to get home, they crash a barnyard party. They somehow float away on a river using a barn door. Yogi and Cindy dream about a trip to Venice. Suddenly, they find themselves being chased by the police! They have become fugitives, but they manage to escape.

They hitch a ride in a moving truck. But they end up in the middle of a busy city, which is New York City. They run from the police, climbing to the top of a hotel and then across a tall building under construction.

Happy Ending in Jellystone

The next morning, Ranger Smith sees the three bears on television! He decides to pick them up in a helicopter. All the excitement has made Jellystone Park very famous. Ranger Smith gets promoted to Chief Ranger by the Park Commissioner. He brings all three bears back to Jellystone. They promise to be "good bears" from now on.
