Hi-5 House was a fun Australian TV show for kids. It was a spin-off from the popular original Hi-5 series. The original show aired in Australia from 1999 to 2011. Hi-5 House started on 4 November 2013 on Nick Jr. Australia.

The show was made for young children, focusing on music and learning. It helped kids learn through different activities. Julie Greene was the main producer. The cast included Lauren Brant, Mary Lascaris, Ainsley Melham, Stevie Nicholson, and Dayen Zheng. Later, Tanika Anderson joined the team. Hi-5 House even won an Asian Television Award for Best Preschool Program in 2015!

The third and last series came out on Netflix worldwide on 25 March 2016. Hi-5 House ended because the Nine Network decided to bring back the original Hi-5 show with a new cast in 2017.

What is Hi-5 House About?

Hi-5 House was a variety show for young kids. It mixed learning with pop music, just like the first Hi-5 series. The five cast members were known as Hi-5. They each had their own special parts of the show and also sang songs together.

The show's set looked like a big house. The cast members pretended to live there together. Each person's segment took place in a different room of the house. This made it feel like a child's own home.

Learning in Every Room

Each cast member had a segment that focused on a different way of learning. This was based on a theory about how people are smart in different ways.

  • Puzzles and Patterns: This part happened in the kitchen. It focused on thinking logically and math skills. A puppet named Jup Jup helped the presenter solve puzzles.
  • Making Music: In the music room, this segment explored music. It taught about how high or low sounds are, rhythm, and melodies. They used real and pretend instruments.
  • Body Move: This segment was in the backyard. It encouraged kids to dance and move their bodies. This helped them develop coordination.
  • Word Play: In the bedroom, this part focused on language and listening skills. A puppet named Chatterbox helped discover words through stories and rhymes.
  • Shapes in Space: This segment took place in the rumpus room. It helped kids understand shapes, colors, and everyday things like boxes and playdough.

Songs and Stories

At the end of each episode, all the cast members came together for Sharing Stories. They told a story to explore feelings and how people get along.

Every week, there was a Song of the Week. This pop-style song matched the week's theme and taught about a new topic. There was also a segment called The Chatterbox. Here, the Chatterbox puppet taught a toy robot named Tinka how to speak simple English words.
