Hickory is famous for being the hometown of Zack Mosley. He was the person who created the popular comic strip called The Adventures of Smilin' Jack. This comic was about an exciting aviator, which is a pilot. Zack Mosley got the idea for his comic after seeing an early airplane crash right there in Hickory!
