The Story of Hickson
Hickson began to grow in 1883. This was when a railroad line was built through the area. The railroad helped people and goods travel easily.
A post office opened in Hickson in 1884. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1975.
The community got its name from a man named Ole Hicks. He was one of the first settlers to live in that area.
