Where is Hidalgo Located?
Hidalgo is found in the northern part of Jasper County. A main road, Illinois Route 130, runs along the east side of the village. This road can take you north about 7 miles (11 km) to a town called Greenup. If you go south on the same road for about 12 miles (19 km), you will reach Newton. Newton is the main town, or "county seat," for Jasper County.
