Hideaki Ōmura, born on March 9, 1960, is a Japanese politician. He is currently the governor of Aichi Prefecture. Before that, he was a member of Japan's national parliament, called the House of Representatives.

Early Life and School

Hideaki Ōmura was born in Hekinan, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on March 9, 1960. His father was a carpenter, and his mother was a farmer. He studied law at the famous University of Tokyo and graduated from there.

In 1982, after finishing his studies, Hideaki Ōmura joined the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. He worked in different roles there, helping with farming and planning.

In 1995, he became a leader for the Liberal Democratic Party in his home area, Aichi Prefecture. A year later, in 1996, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time. This is like being a member of parliament in other countries. He served in this role for five terms, which means he was re-elected many times, until 2011.

In 2011, he decided to run for a different important job: the governor of Aichi Prefecture. He won the election and has been serving as the governor ever since. As governor, he is in charge of leading the government of Aichi Prefecture.

Personal Life

Hideaki Ōmura is married and has four children.
