Higgidy's Story
Camilla Stephens began baking pies in her own kitchen. She first sold them at local events and small shops. In 2004, Higgidy got its first big customer, the café chain called EAT.
Growing the Business
Higgidy became more popular when Sainsbury's supermarkets chose them in 2007. This was part of a special program to find new suppliers. After this, Higgidy grew a lot.
By 2009 and 2010, Higgidy was listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100. This list shows the fastest-growing companies in the UK. In 2011, Higgidy also won a regional award from HSBC Business Thinking for the South of England.
Where Higgidy Makes Food
Higgidy's first factory was in Southwick, West Sussex. In 2007, the company moved to a bigger place in Shoreham-by-Sea. By 2020, about 300 people worked there.
Cookbooks by Camilla Stephens
Camilla Stephens, one of the founders, has written two cookbooks. Higgidy: The Cookbook came out in 2007. It had 100 recipes for pies and other dishes. In 2019, she released Higgidy: The Veggie Cookbook, which featured 120 vegetarian recipes.
Helping the Community
Higgidy supports charities like FareShare and FareShare Sussex. They regularly give away extra food that they make. This food helps people who are hungry in the UK. It goes to community kitchens and local food banks.
New Partnerships
In 2019, a company called Samworth Brothers bought a small part of Higgidy. Samworth Brothers also owns other pie-making companies. This partnership was expected to help Higgidy with its operations. There were no plans to combine their factories.

In 2019, Higgidy made almost 13 million food items. Their range of products has grown a lot over the years.
