Where is Highland Holiday?

Highland Holiday is located in the eastern part of Highland County, Ohio. It sits along the southern edge of Paint Township. To its west, you'll find another CDP called Rocky Fork Point.

Both Highland Holiday and Rocky Fork Point are on the north side of Rocky Fork Lake. This lake is a reservoir, which is a large, artificial lake used to store water. It was created from the Rocky Fork stream. The Rocky Fork stream flows east into Paint Creek. Paint Creek then flows into the Scioto River. All these waterways are part of the larger Ohio River watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a common river or lake.

The community covers an area of about 1.10 square miles (2.8 km2). Most of this area, about 0.60 square miles (1.6 km2), is land. The rest, about 0.49 square miles (1.3 km2), is water, mainly from Rocky Fork Lake. Highland Holiday is about 9 miles (14 km) east of Hillsboro. Hillsboro is the main town and county seat of Highland County.
