Higuera de Llerena is a small town in Spain. It is located in the province of Badajoz. This province is part of a larger area called Extremadura. In 2018, about 343 people lived here.

History of Higuera de Llerena
In 1594, Higuera de Llerena was part of the Crown of Castile. This was a very important kingdom in Spain. The town was also part of the Lion state of the Order of Santiago. This was a powerful group of knights. Higuera de Llerena was a village connected to the larger town of Llerena. It was linked with other villages like Cantalgayo and Maguilla.
Becoming a Town
When the old system of government, called the Ancient Regime, ended, Higuera became its own town. It was then known simply as Higuera. This happened in the region of Extremadura. From 1834, Higuera de Llerena became part of the Llerena court district. A count in 1842 showed that the town had 66 homes. About 275 people lived there at that time.
