Hiles is a small place in Forest County, Wisconsin, United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's not an official city or town. Hiles is located on Wisconsin Highway 32, about 10 miles (16 km) north-northwest of a town called Crandon.
History of Hiles
Hiles got its name from a man named F. P. Hiles. He was a "lumber baron," which means he was a very successful businessman in the timber industry. He made a lot of money from cutting down trees and selling wood.
Early Days and the Post Office
A post office was opened in Hiles in 1903. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1968.

Hiles has a church called Christ Lutheran Church. It is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, which is a group of Lutheran churches.
