Hill Top is a small place in Fleming County, Kentucky, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it is part of the larger county.
Hill Top is found where two roads, Kentucky Route 170 and Kentucky Route 1347, meet. It is about 7.1 miles (11.4 km) southwest of a bigger town called Flemingsburg.

Hill Top is the birthplace of a very important person in American history.
Franklin Sousley: A War Hero
- Franklin Sousley was born in Hill Top on September 19, 1925. He was a brave U.S. Marine.
- He became famous for being one of the men in a well-known photograph. This picture shows U.S. Marines and Sailors raising the second American flag on Iwo Jima. This happened during a very tough battle in World War II.
- Franklin Sousley was very young when he served his country. He was sadly killed in action on Iwo Jima on March 21, 1945. This was about a month after the famous photo was taken. He was only 19 years old.
- His body was first buried on Iwo Jima. Later, it was brought back home to Kentucky. He was finally laid to rest on May 8, 1947, in Elizaville Cemetery.
