Where is Flemingsburg?
Flemingsburg is in the northeastern part of Kentucky. It is located northwest of the center of Fleming County.
The city is about 17 miles (27 km) south of Maysville. It's also about 31 miles (50 km) northeast of Mt. Sterling. Paris is about 38 miles (61 km) northeast of Flemingsburg.
The total area of Flemingsburg is about 2.7 square miles (7.0 km²). Only a tiny part of this area is water.

A Look at Flemingsburg's History
Flemingsburg was started in 1797 by George S. Stockton. He was from Virginia. He named the town and the county after his half-brother, Colonel John Fleming.
Since it was formed, Flemingsburg has been the main town for Fleming County. The state assembly officially made it a city in 1812.
