El Arabi Hilal Soudani, born on November 25, 1987, is a professional footballer from Algeria. He plays as a winger for the Slovenian club Maribor.
Soudani first played for the Algerian national team in 2010. He represented his country in major tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, 2015, and 2017. He also played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Overall, he played 56 international games, called "caps," and scored 24 goals. This makes him Algeria's eighth highest goalscorer.

Soudani's Club Career Highlights
Starting at ASO Chlef
Hillal Soudani was born in Chlef, Algeria. He started playing football in the youth teams of his hometown club, ASO Chlef. In May 2006, when he was 19, he played his first game for the senior team. He came on as a substitute in a match against USM Annaba.
In 2008, Soudani was named the Young Player of the Year by DZFoot. This was after he scored 11 goals in 24 games during the 2007–08 season. In June 2011, Soudani had a trial with the French club Le Mans FC.
Playing in Portugal with Vitória de Guimarães
On August 8, 2011, Soudani signed a three-year contract with the Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães. The transfer fee was about €800,000. He made his first official appearance for Vitória on August 25, 2011, in a UEFA Europa League match.
Soudani scored his first goals for the club on October 16, 2011. He scored two goals in a cup match against Moura Atlético Clube. He scored the tying goal in the 89th minute and the winning goal in the 117th minute. On April 1, 2012, he scored his first goal in the Primeira Liga, Portugal's top league.
On May 26, 2013, Soudani helped Vitória win their first ever Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup). They beat Benfica 2–1 in the final. Soudani scored the tying goal in the 79th minute.
Success with Dinamo Zagreb
On May 27, 2013, Soudani signed a four-year contract with the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb. The club paid €900,000 for him.
On July 6, 2013, Soudani won the Croatian Supercup with Dinamo in his first game for the club. He scored in his Croatian First Football League debut six days later. He also scored twice in a UEFA Champions League qualifying game. Soudani helped Dinamo win the Croatian league championship. He scored 16 goals that season.
In the 2014–15 season, Soudani scored three goals in one game against Astra Giurgiu in the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League group stage. He won his second league championship with Dinamo. He scored 11 goals and helped set up 15 others. He also won his first Croatian Cup.

Time at Nottingham Forest
On June 29, 2018, Soudani joined the English club Nottingham Forest. He signed a three-year contract. He scored two goals in his first four games for the club. However, he then injured his knee. In October, Soudani got a serious leg injury. This kept him out of play for the rest of Nottingham's season.
Playing for Olympiacos
On June 18, 2019, Soudani moved to the Greek club Olympiacos. By November 2019, he had become a regular starter for the team. He scored five goals and made one assist, becoming the team's top scorer in the Super League Greece.
On February 20, 2020, Soudani suffered a serious knee injury during a game. This injury meant he would be out of action for at least six months. On January 25, 2021, he left Olympiacos by agreement with the club.
Current Club: Maribor
On June 12, 2023, Soudani signed a two-year contract with the Slovenian club Maribor. He played his first game on July 13 in a 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League match. However, he got injured in the first half and had to leave the game. After being out for over two months, Soudani returned to play on September 24. He made his league debut for Maribor in that game.
Soudani's International Career
In February 2011, Soudani was chosen to play for the Algerian A' national team. This was for the 2011 African Nations Championship in Sudan. In the first game, against Uganda, Soudani scored a goal. In the second game, against Gabon, he scored two goals. He finished as one of the top scorers in the competition with three goals.
On May 14, 2011, Soudani was called up to the main Algeria national team for the first time. He made his debut on June 4, 2011, coming on as a substitute in a game against Morocco.
