El Arabi Hilal Soudani, born on November 25, 1987, is an Algerian professional football player. He plays as a winger for the Slovenian club Maribor.
Hilal Soudani first played for the Algerian national team in 2010. He played in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013, 2015, and 2017. He also played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Overall, he played 56 games for his country and scored 24 goals. This makes him Algeria's eighth highest goalscorer.

Hilal Soudani has played for many different football clubs. He started his career in Algeria and then moved to play in Portugal, Croatia, England, Greece, and Saudi Arabia. Now, he plays in Slovenia.
Starting in Algeria: ASO Chlef
Soudani was born in Chlef, Algeria. He started playing football in the youth teams of his hometown club, ASO Chlef. In May 2006, when he was 19, he played his first game for the senior team.
In 2008, Soudani was named the Young Player of the Year by DZFoot. This was after he scored 11 goals in 24 games during the 2007–08 season. He helped ASO Chlef win the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 title in the 2010–11 season.
Moving to Portugal: Vitória de Guimarães
On August 8, 2011, Soudani signed a three-year contract with the Portuguese club Vitória de Guimarães. He made his first appearance for Vitória later that month.
In October 2011, Soudani scored his first goals for the club. He scored two goals in a cup match against Moura Atlético Clube. He helped his team win the game in extra time. On May 26, 2013, Soudani helped Vitória win their first ever Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup). He scored the equalizing goal in the final against Benfica.
Playing in Croatia: Dinamo Zagreb
After his success in Portugal, Soudani moved to Croatia. On May 27, 2013, he signed a four-year contract with the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb.
He quickly made an impact, winning the Croatian Supercup with Dinamo in his first game. He also scored in his league debut. Soudani scored two goals and helped with another in a UEFA Champions League qualifying match. He won the Croatian league championship in his first season, scoring 16 goals.
In the 2014–15 season, Soudani scored three goals in a UEFA Europa League group stage match. He won his second league title with Dinamo and also his first Croatian Cup. Dinamo won both the league and cup again in the 2015–16 season.
In the 2016–17 season, Soudani scored a very important goal in extra time. This goal helped Dinamo reach the group stage of the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League. He had his best season for goals in the league, scoring 17 times.
Time in England: Nottingham Forest
On June 29, 2018, Soudani joined the English club Nottingham Forest. He signed a three-year contract. He scored two goals in his first four games. However, he then got a serious leg injury that kept him from playing for the rest of the season.
Playing in Greece: Olympiacos
On June 18, 2019, Soudani moved to the Greek club Olympiacos. By November 2019, he became a key player for the team. He scored five goals and made one assist, becoming the team's top scorer in the Super League Greece.
In February 2020, Soudani suffered another serious injury. He tore a ligament in his knee, which meant he would be out of action for at least six months. He left the club in January 2021.
Playing in Saudi Arabia: Al Fateh and Damac
After leaving Olympiacos, Soudani moved to Saudi Arabia. He played for Al Fateh in 2021. Later that year, he joined Damac. He played for Damac until 2023, scoring 14 goals in 45 games.
Return to Slovenia: Maribor
On June 12, 2023, Soudani signed a two-year contract with the Slovenian club Maribor. He made his debut in July, but got injured in his first game. After recovering, he made his league debut in September.
International Career
In February 2011, Hilal Soudani was chosen to play for the Algerian A' national team. He played in the 2011 African Nations Championship in Sudan. He scored three goals in the tournament, making him one of the top scorers.
On May 14, 2011, Soudani was called up to the main Algeria national team for the first time. He made his debut on June 4, 2011, coming on as a substitute. He has since become one of Algeria's most important players.
