A Look Back at Hilliardville's History

Hilliardville has been a community for a long time, since the late 1800s. Back then, it was an important stop for trains. The Carrabelle, Tallahassee and Georgia Railroad used to pass through here.

Imagine a train pulling into Hilliardville! It would arrive in the afternoon, around 1:55 PM, coming from Tallahassee. People would get on or off, and goods would be loaded or unloaded. After a short stop, the train would leave Hilliardville and continue its journey, reaching Lanark by 3:00 PM. This made Hilliardville a busy spot for travel and trade in the past.
