History of Hillsdale
Hillsdale was first called Columbia. It was started in 1869 when a railroad line was built to that spot.
The first post office in Columbia opened in August 1868. It was later renamed Hillsdale in April 1870. The community still has a post office today with the ZIP code 66036.
