Hillside is a neighborhood located in Northwest Portland. It sits within the West Hills area of the city. This neighborhood is a great place for families and has a strong community feel.
The heart of Hillside is the Hillside Community Center. This building used to be the Catlin Gabel School. A famous architect named Pietro Belluschi designed the school building. Today, the community center offers many things for people to do. It has spaces for neighborhood meetings, a soccer field for games, and a basketball court.
Hillside is very close to the Northwest District. This area is known for its many restaurants, fun shops, and places to hang out. Hillside is also right next to Forest Park. Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the United States. It's a fantastic place for hiking and exploring nature.
