Playing Career of Hiroto Mogi

Early Career and Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Hiroto Mogi was born in Fukushima, Japan, on March 2, 1984. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey. In 2002, he joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a club in the top Japanese league, J1 League.

Even though Sanfrecce Hiroshima often moved between the J1 League and the J2 League, Mogi got chances to play. He started as a forward in his very first season. However, he did not become a regular player. By the middle of 2005, he was not playing much in matches.

Time with Vissel Kobe

In 2006, Mogi moved to Vissel Kobe, which was then in the J2 League. He played in many games for them. Vissel Kobe was promoted to the J1 League at the end of the 2006 season.

In 2007, Mogi changed his playing position. He became a "side back," which is a type of defender who plays on the sides of the field. He played many matches in this new role, on both the right and left sides.

He had some injuries in 2008, which kept him from playing. But from 2009, he became a regular side back for Vissel Kobe. The team was moved down to the J2 League at the end of the 2012 season. Even though Vissel Kobe earned promotion back to J1 in 2013, Mogi's playing time became less from that year onwards.

Return to Fukushima and Retirement

In 2015, Hiroto Mogi returned to his hometown area. He joined Fukushima United FC, a club in the J3 League. He played many matches for them each season. He played both as a forward and a side back. Hiroto Mogi officially retired from playing football at the end of the 2018 season.
