Hiéville was a small town, called a commune, located in northwestern France. It was part of the Calvados area in the Normandy region.

On January 1, 2017, Hiéville joined with other nearby towns to form a new, larger commune called Saint-Pierre-en-Auge. This means Hiéville is no longer a separate commune on its own.

The second part of the name, 'ville,' comes from an old French word. This word originally meant a country estate or a piece of land. It came from the Latin phrase villa rustica, which was a countryside home. So, the name might suggest a "pleasant country estate."
