What is Hockley Valley Resort?
Hockley Valley Resort offers many activities. In winter, it is a ski retreat. It has 15 different ski runs. There are also four ski lifts to take you up the slopes.

Lifts and Snow
Hockley Valley Resort has four ski lifts. These include two quad chairlifts. There is also a handle tow and a magic carpet. The magic carpet is great for beginners.
The resort gets about 2.5 meters (100 inches) of snow each year. They also make their own snow. This means 100% of their ski area has snowmaking. You can even ski at night from Tuesday to Saturday.
History of Hockley Valley Resort
The property where the resort stands has a long history. It was once called Hockley Hills Resort. It started as a small hotel with a ski area.
In 1985, a person named Nancy Adamo bought the property. She had a big plan for it. In 1986, she started a huge project. The resort was completely changed and updated.
From Small Hotel to Big Resort
The big changes turned the small hotel into a large resort. It became a spa and a conference center. By the year 2000, the resort employed 250 people.
Before becoming Hockley Valley Resort, the property had other uses. It once served as a courthouse. It was also a blacksmith shop. At one time, it even functioned as a town hall.
