Holiday Shores is in the northern part of Madison County. It's built around a beautiful body of water called Holiday Lake. This lake is actually a reservoir, which is a man-made lake used to store water.
Waterways and Connections
Holiday Lake gets its water from Joulters Creek. The water from the lake eventually flows into Paddock Creek. Paddock Creek then joins Cahokia Creek, which travels southwest. Finally, Cahokia Creek empties into the mighty Mississippi River near a town called Hartford.

Holiday Shores is about 15 miles (24 km) east of Alton. It's also about 10 miles (16 km) north of Edwardsville, which is the main city in Madison County. If you travel about 30 miles (48 km) northeast, you'll reach the big city of St. Louis.
