Homalocephale was a fascinating plant-eating dinosaur that lived a long time ago. Its name means "flat head," and that's exactly what it had! This dinosaur's head was very flat and housed a super thick skull.
Even though its skull was thick, Homalocephale had a tiny brain. It also had large eyes, which might have helped it spot predators or find food. The skull bone had tiny holes and blood vessels, making it strong but also a bit flexible.
Meet Homalocephale
Homalocephale was not a giant dinosaur. It grew to be about 5 feet (1.5 meters) long. That's about the length of a small car! It weighed around 95 pounds (43 kilograms), which is similar to a large dog.
This dinosaur likely had a great sense of smell. This would have been useful for finding plants to eat or sniffing out danger.
Unique Features
Homalocephale had some cool features on its head. It had bumpy knobs on its snout, which is the front part of its face. More bumps were found along the back of its skull.
Its teeth were shaped like leaves, perfect for munching on plants. It also had short front legs and a tail that was quite stiff.
