A Look Back in Time
Honduras, Indiana, had a bit more going on in the past. In 1890, a post office opened its doors there. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages.
However, the post office didn't stay open forever. It closed down in 1904. Around the same time, in the early 1900s, there was also a general store. This store sold all sorts of things, from food to tools, for the local community.
Where Did the Name Come From?
It's believed that this small community in Indiana was named after the country of Honduras. This country is located far away in Latin America. It's interesting how places can share names across the world!
