Honduras is a country in Central America that loves sports! They have sent athletes to compete in the Summer Olympic Games eleven times. They also took part in the Winter Olympic Games once, in 1992.
Even though Honduras has competed many times, they have not yet won an Olympic medal. Their best result so far was in men's football at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The team played really well and reached the bronze medal match, but they lost to Nigeria with a score of 3-2.
The organization in charge of Olympic sports in Honduras is called the Comité Olímpico Hondureño. It was created in 1956 and was recognized by the IOC in the same year.
