History of Hosensack
During the mid-1730s, a road called Kings Highway was surveyed. This led to people starting to settle in the Hosensack Valley. A story says that a group of German travelers spent a night in the valley. They reportedly said, "es war so dunkel wie in einem Hosensack." This phrase means "it was as dark as in a pants pocket."
The village was originally named Buckhorn. It was officially founded in the year 1759.
