House of Anvers is a special chocolatier company located in Latrobe, Tasmania, Australia. It was started in 1989 by Igor van Gerwen, who is a chocolate maker from Belgium.
The company moved to its current home, the historic Wyndarra Lodge, in 2002. This building is on the Bass Highway. House of Anvers is the only place in Australia that sells a very unique chocolate called Fortunato No. 4, made from Nacional cocoa.

You can find House of Anvers chocolates in different places. They are sold in smaller, independent chocolate shops and also in IGA supermarkets.
Anvers also has its own special store in Latrobe. This store even has a restaurant where you can enjoy chocolate-themed meals!

The chocolates from House of Anvers are even a favorite of Marc Mullie, who is the ambassador from Belgium to Australia. Anvers was also the first place in Northern Tasmania to offer a charging point for electric cars.
The Book Chocolatier
In 2023, Igor van Gerwen wrote a book called Chocolatier. This book tells the story of how House of Anvers began. The book was recognized as the best chocolate book at the Gourmand International Cookbook Awards in Saudi Arabia.
