Howard O'Neal Carter, born on October 26, 1961, is a retired professional basketball player. He is American and also has French citizenship. Howard played college basketball for Louisiana State University (LSU). After college, he was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the 1983 NBA draft. He was the 15th player picked overall that year.

College Basketball Career
Howard Carter, also known as "Hi-C," played basketball for the LSU Tigers. He was part of the team from 1980 to 1983. In 1981, his team made it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. During his time at LSU, Howard was recognized as a Second Team All-American player in both 1982 and 1983.
Professional Basketball Journey
Howard was the 15th player chosen in the 1983 NBA draft from Louisiana State University. The Denver Nuggets picked him, and he played one season with them. During that season, he scored an average of 6.2 points per game.
His time in the NBA was short, ending with the Dallas Mavericks in the 1984–85 season. After that, he moved to France and played basketball there for almost ten years. He even became a French citizen and played for the French national team. Howard finished his playing career with the Greek team Irakleio.
Howard's Family Life
While playing basketball in Greece, Howard Carter met Geraldine Vickers. She was from Essex, England, and worked at a travel agency. Even though their relationship did not last, they had a son together. Their son, Cameron Carter-Vickers, grew up to be a professional soccer player. He currently plays for Scottish Premiership club Celtic F.C. Cameron also plays for the United States on the international stage.
