Howard O'Neal Carter (born October 26, 1961) is a retired professional basketball player. He played for teams in America, France, and Greece. Howard is known for his time playing college basketball for Louisiana State University (LSU). He was also picked early in the 1983 NBA draft.

Howard Carter's College Basketball Journey
Howard Carter, also known as "Hi-C," was a star player for the LSU Tigers college team. He played from 1980 to 1983. One of his biggest achievements was helping his team reach the Final Four in 1981. This is a very important part of the college basketball tournament.
Howard was recognized as one of the best college players. He was named Second Team All-American in both 1982 and 1983. This award shows that he was one of the top players in the entire country.
Playing Professional Basketball
After his successful college career, Howard Carter was chosen in the 1983 NBA draft. The Denver Nuggets picked him as the 15th player overall. He played one season with the Nuggets. During that time, he scored an average of 6.2 points per game.
Howard's time in the NBA was short. He also played briefly for the Dallas Mavericks in the 1984–85 season. After his NBA career, Howard moved to France. He played basketball there for almost ten years. He even became a French citizen. This allowed him to play for the French national team. He finished his long playing career in Greece.
