Hsu Wei-ning (born August 7, 1984), also known as Tiffany Ann Hsu, is a famous Taiwanese actress. She started her career as a model. Later, she became well-known for her roles in TV shows like It Started with a Kiss and They Kiss Again. She also worked as a VJ for MTV Taiwan.
Hsu was nominated for a Golden Horse Award for her role as Doris in the film Design 7 Love. She won a Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actress for her part in the TV series The Way We Were. She is also famous for starring in the horror movies The Tag-Along (2015) and The Tag-Along 2 (2017).
Early life and education
Tiffany Ann Hsu's father is Italian-American, and her mother is Taiwanese. Her mother and grandparents raised her. Hsu went to the Hwa Kang Arts School in Taipei. She studied Drama Acting at the Chinese Cultural University and finished in 2007. Her friends often call her Ann.
Career highlights
Hsu was discovered by a modeling agency in 2003 while trying out for MTV Taiwan. She then began her career as a fashion model.
In 2004, Hsu appeared in her first TV show, Jia You Fei Fei. She also sang the theme song for it. In 2005, she played a main role in the popular series It Started with a Kiss. Her first movie was Amour-Legende in 2007.
Hsu starred in several idol dramas like ToGetHer and Autumn's Concerto in 2009. In 2012, she played the main character in Love Me or Leave Me (TV series). This show was about a woman who was scared of marriage.
In 2014, Hsu starred in her first film as the main actress, Design 7 Love. She also gained more fame for her role in the TV series The Way We Were. Her acting in this show won her a Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2015, Hsu starred in the horror film The Tag-Along. She played a smart radio DJ. This movie was very popular and did well in Taiwan. It had one of the best opening weekends for a Taiwanese film since Our Times.
Personal life
Tiffany Ann Hsu dated actor Ethan Juan from 2006 to 2015. Later, she was in a relationship with cinematographer Liu You-nian from 2017 to 2020.
On December 10, 2021, Hsu announced that she married Roy Chiu. They had worked together in the 2021 romance film Man in Love.
