The Huaguruncho mountain range is a group of tall mountains in the Andes of Peru. Sometimes you might see it spelled Huagaruncho or Huagoruncho. This mountain range stretches for about 27 kilometers (17 miles) from east to west. It is found in two important areas of Peru: the Huánuco Region and the Pasco Region.
Tall Peaks of Huaguruncho
The highest mountain in this range is Huaguruncho itself. It stands incredibly tall at 5,723 meters (18,776 feet) above sea level!

Icy Glaciers
In 2009, scientists reported that the Huaguruncho mountain range had 41 glaciers. These glaciers covered a total area of about 9.71 square kilometers (3.75 square miles). Glaciers are like giant, slow-moving rivers of ice!
Beautiful Lakes
This mountain range is also home to many beautiful lakes. There are about 70 lakes scattered throughout the Huaguruncho range.
