Stanley "Huck" Gutman, born on December 24, 1943, is an American professor and political advisor. He teaches English at the University of Vermont. He also used to be a main advisor for Bernie Sanders, who ran for president. Huck Gutman helped write Bernie Sanders's book, Outsider in the White House.

Huck Gutman's Early Life
Stanley Gutman was born on December 24, 1943. He went to the University of Vermont for college. While he was there, he got a fun nickname: "Huck." This name came from the famous book character Huckleberry Finn. He got it because he often walked around campus without shoes. Later, he earned a special advanced degree, called a PhD, from Duke University.
Huck Gutman's Career
Huck Gutman is a professor of English at the University of Vermont. He is an expert in American literature from the 1900s and poetry from the 1800s. He also knows a lot about modern poetry.
He helped edit a book about a famous thinker named Michel Foucault. He also helped put together a collection of essays about how people around the world see American literature. Gutman has written articles for a magazine called Monthly Review. Some of these articles he wrote with Harry Magdoff. He has also written about Yehuda Amichai, a poet from Israel.
