Exploring Hudson: A Small Missouri Community
Hudson is located in the U.S. state of Missouri. It sits on a county road, just north of Missouri Route 52. The community is also about one mile southwest of the corner of Henry County. The city of Butler is about 13 miles away, to the west-northwest.
Hudson's Beginnings: How It Started
Hudson was officially planned and mapped out in 1867. This process is called "platting." It means someone drew up the plans for streets and property lots. The community was named after Henry Hudson, a famous explorer. For a while, Hudson had its own post office, but it closed in 1890.
