Hugh Dillon (born May 31, 1963) is a talented Canadian singer, actor, and TV producer. He is best known as the lead singer for the rock bands Headstones and Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir. You might also know him from his acting roles in popular TV shows like Flashpoint, X Company, and Yellowstone. He also helped create and produce the TV series Mayor of Kingstown.

Early Life in Kingston
Hugh Dillon was born and grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. When he was a kid, he lived on the same street as future hockey star Doug Gilmour. They even played hockey together on a frozen swamp! Hugh also played hockey with Paul Langlois, who later became a guitarist for the famous band The Tragically Hip.
Hugh went to Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute. Other famous people like David Usher and members of The Tragically Hip also went to that school around the same time. After high school, Hugh briefly attended Queen's University and lived in London, England. Today, he splits his time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
Hugh Dillon's Music Journey
Hugh Dillon is the lead singer of the rock band Headstones. The band started in 1987. Their first album, Picture of Health, came out in 1993. It included popular songs like "When Something Stands For Nothing" and "Cemetery."
After the Headstones took a break in 2003, Hugh started a new band called Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir. This band played a mix of indie rock with influences from country, pop, and punk. In 2005, they released their album, The High Co$t of Low Living. Hugh also released a solo album called Works Well with Others in 2009.
The original Headstones members got back together in 2011. In 2013, they used a method called crowdfunding to help make their album, Love + Fury. This album was a big success, becoming one of the top 10 albums and having a No. 1 hit song. They released another crowdfunded album in 2014 called One in the Chamber Music.
Later, the Headstones released Little Army in 2017, which featured another No. 1 hit, "Devil's On Fire." In 2019, their album Peopleskills had two songs, "Leave It All Behind" and "Horses," that reached No. 3 on the US Billboard charts.
Hugh Dillon's Acting Roles
Hugh Dillon began his acting career in movies. His first big role was in the 1995 film Dance Me Outside. He then played a main character, Joe Dick, in the 1996 movie Hard Core Logo.
He has appeared in several other films, including Assault on Precinct 13. In 2007, he was nominated for an award for his role in Trailer Park Boys: The Movie. He also acted alongside Vera Farmiga in the movie Down to the Bone. You might have seen him in TV shows like Degrassi: The Next Generation or ReGenesis.
Hugh starred as Mike Sweeney in the Canadian TV series Durham County. His acting in this show earned him a nomination for Best Actor in 2008.
One of his most famous roles was Sergeant Ed Lane in the police drama Flashpoint. This show was set in Toronto and ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2012. Hugh won an award in 2014 for his great performance in Flashpoint.
More recently, Hugh Dillon helped create and produce the TV series Mayor of Kingstown for Paramount+. He also acts in the show as Ian Ferguson. He returned to play Sheriff Donnie Haskell in season 4 of Yellowstone, starring with Kevin Costner. Hugh has also appeared in The Killing, Continuum, and played a main role in X Company for three seasons. He even had a part in the new Twin Peaks series and the movie Wind River.
