Hugh Dillon (born May 31, 1963) is a Canadian singer, actor, and television producer. He is famous for being the lead singer of the rock band Headstones. He is also known for his acting roles in popular TV shows.
Some of his well-known roles include Ed Lane in Flashpoint, Donnie Haskell in Yellowstone, and Ian Ferguson in Mayor of Kingstown. Dillon is also a co-creator and producer for Mayor of Kingstown, which means he helps develop the show's story and manage its production.

Early Life and Hometown
Hugh Dillon was born and raised in the city of Kingston, Ontario. Growing up, he lived on the same street as Doug Gilmour, who later became a famous NHL hockey player. They often played hockey together on a frozen swamp in their neighborhood.
Dillon also played hockey with Paul Langlois, who would become the guitarist for the popular Canadian band The Tragically Hip. Dillon went to Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute. This was the same high school attended by members of The Tragically Hip and the musician David Usher.
After high school, Dillon attended Queen's University for a short time. He also lived in London, England, before finally moving to Toronto. Today, he splits his time between Canada and Los Angeles.
Music Career
Hugh Dillon is best known in the music world as the lead singer for the rock band Headstones. The band formed in 1987 and released its first album, Picture of Health, in 1993. This album was a big success and included hit songs like "When Something Stands For Nothing" and "Cemetery."
New Musical Projects
After the Headstones took a break in 2003, Dillon started a new group called the Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir. This band played indie rock music, mixing in sounds from country, pop, and punk. They released one album in 2005 called The High Co$t of Low Living.
In 2009, Dillon released his first solo album, Works Well with Others. It was successful and reached number 51 on the Canadian music charts.
The Return of Headstones
In 2011, the original members of Headstones got back together. To fund their new album, Love + Fury, they used crowdfunding. This is where fans donate money to help support a project. The album was a hit and gave the band a No. 1 single.
The band continued to release new music. In 2017, their album Little Army featured the No. 1 hit song "Devil's On Fire." In 2019, they released Peopleskills, which had two top-five singles on the U.S. Billboard charts.
Acting Career
Dillon's acting career began in 1995 with a role in the movie Dance Me Outside. He gained more attention for his leading role in the 1996 film Hard Core Logo, where he played a rock singer named Joe Dick.
Success on Television
Dillon has appeared in many TV shows. One of his most famous roles was Sergeant Ed Lane in the police drama Flashpoint. The show was very popular and ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2012. For his work on the show, Dillon won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor in 2014.
He also played Mike Sweeney in the crime series Durham County, which earned him a nomination for a Gemini Award (an award for Canadian television).
