Humppila is a small municipality in Finland. It is located in the Tavastia Proper region. Humppila is the smallest municipality in Tavastia Proper based on its population.
The town's growth was greatly helped by the arrival of the Turku–Toijala railway in 1876. Today, trains still stop in Humppila. The railway station, which was once closed, has now reopened for passengers.
From 1898 to 1974, Humppila was the starting point for the Jokioinen Railway. This was a narrow-gauge line that went for 22 kilometers (about 14 miles) to the town of Forssa. Today, 15 kilometers (about 9 miles) of this line is used as the Jokioinen Museum Railway.
Two important highways pass through Humppila. These are Highway 2, which connects Vihti and Pori, and Highway 9, which links Turku and Tampere.
