Ypäjä is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the beautiful countryside of southwestern Finland. It's part of the Southern Finland province and the Tavastia Proper region. Ypäjä is home to about 2,207 people (as of 31 December 2023).

The area of Ypäjä is about 183.25 square kilometres (70.75 sq mi). A small part of this area, 0.5 km2 (0.19 sq mi), is water. This means there are lakes or rivers in the municipality. Most people in Ypäjä speak only Finnish.

Exploring Ypäjä

The main part of Ypäjä is a small village. It sits right by the Loimijoki river. This village is located between two towns: Forssa and Loimaa. Forssa is about 23 kilometers (14 miles) to the east. Loimaa is about 15 kilometers (9 miles) to the west.

Ypäjä's Location

Even though Ypäjä is officially part of the Forssa region, it's also often linked to the Loimaa area. This is because both towns have influenced Ypäjä over time. Ypäjä shares its borders with other nearby municipalities. These include Jokioinen, Humppila, Somero, and Koski Tl.

Getting Around

Ypäjä is also quite close to some of Finland's biggest cities.
