Hurontown's History
Hurontown started as a settlement in 1855. This happened when the Huron Copper Company opened. This company later changed its name. It became the Houghton Mining Company. Then it was called the Huron Mining Company.
The community was officially planned out in 1862. For the 2020 census, Hurontown was listed as a new census-designated place.
