Hussein Mahmoud Fahmy is a very famous Egyptian actor. He was born on March 22, 1940, in Cairo, Egypt. He has been working in movies and TV shows for over 50 years! He is known for acting and also for directing films. He has appeared in more than 100 movies, TV shows, and plays.

A Life in Film and Helping Others

Hussein Fahmy studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There, he earned a special degree in fine arts. After his studies, he taught at the Academy of Arts, which is a film school, for twelve years.

He is not just an actor; he is also known for helping people. In 1998, he became the first UNDP Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Arab countries. This means he worked to share important messages about human development with people in the Middle East.

In March 2007, he was also chosen as the first Special Olympics Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa. In this role, he helped spread awareness and encouraged everyone to support the Special Olympics movement. He also served as the President of the Cairo International Film Festival from 1998 to 2001. In 2006, he hosted his first TV show called Elnas wa Ana.

Hussein Fahmy has starred in many films throughout his long career. He started acting in 1963 and has been in over 100 movies. Some of his early films include Alley of the Pestle (1963) and Fire of Longing (1970).

He starred in popular movies like Watch Out for Zouzou (1972) and The Bullet is Still in My Pocket (1974). He also appeared in The Guilty (1975) and Viva Zalata (1976).

In the 1980s, he continued to make many films, such as A Dinner Date (1981) and A Moment of Weakness (1981). Later, he was in movies like Alexandria Again and Again (1990) and Dangerous Game (1991). His career continued into the 2000s with films like Anbar and the Colours (2000) and Lovers' Paperclips (2001).
