Hussein Fahmy Mahmoud (Arabic: حسين فهمي; born on March 22, 1940) is a famous Egyptian actor. He has worked in movies and TV for over 50 years. He has starred in more than 100 films, TV shows, and plays.
Hussein Fahmy studied film at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He earned a special degree called a Master of Fine Arts. After his studies, he taught at a film school for 12 years. He is known for being a top movie star and for his work helping people. In 1998, he became the first Goodwill Ambassador for the Arab States. In this role, he worked to share important ideas about human development with people in the Middle East.

Hussein Fahmy's Career and Public Service
Hussein Fahmy has taken on many important roles outside of acting. In March 2007, he was chosen as the first Special Olympics Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa. As an ambassador, he helps spread awareness about the Special Olympics. He encourages everyone in the community to support the movement.
He also served as the President of the Cairo International Film Festival from 1998 to 2001. This is a big event where many films are shown. In 2006, he hosted his first TV show called Elnas wa Ana. It was shown on Egyptian TV and the el-Hayah channel.
Hussein Fahmy's Family Life
Hussein Fahmy has been married five times and has five children. His first wife was Nadia Moharram. She was the daughter of an Egyptian ambassador. They got married after he finished college and had two children together.
Later, he married the Egyptian actress Mervat Amin in 1974. They had a daughter named Menatallah. They divorced in 1986. He then married Hala Fathy, who worked with computers, from 2001 to 2007. In 2008, he married actress Leeka Sewidan, but they divorced in 2012. His fifth marriage was to Rana Algosaibi, a businesswoman from Bahrain, from 2013 to 2016.
