The Hyalinobatrachium yaku is a special kind of frog that lives in Ecuador. It belongs to a group of frogs called Centrolenidae, also known as glassfrogs. You can find this frog in the Pastaza, Orellana, and Napo Provinces of Ecuador.
One amazing thing about this frog is its see-through belly! You can actually see some of its inside parts, like its red heart, right through its skin. Glassfrogs are usually small, growing to about 2 to 7.5 centimeters (0.8 to 3 inches) long. You can tell the Hyalinobatrachium yaku apart from other glassfrogs because it has a line of dark green spots down the middle of its back.

Hamilton. They shared their exciting discovery on May 12, 2017. Their findings were published in a science journal called ZooKeys.
