Hyves is a website where people can have contact with friends online. It can be used to make new friends or to stay in touch with old friends. It was started in 2004 and has over 9 million users; most of them are Dutch. That is the reason why it is very popular in the Netherlands. Pictures and videos can be put and shared on it. Hyves is similar to Facebook or the German VZ Networks.
