Men's Bandy Team History
The men's bandy team at IFK Nässjö played for many years. In 1944, they tried to qualify for Sweden's top bandy league. This was a big step for the team. However, the men's bandy team stopped playing in 1968.
Women's Bandy Success
The women's bandy section of IFK Nässjö began in 2004. They took over the women's team from another local club, Nässjö IF. This new team quickly became very successful.
- In 2009, the IFK Nässjö women's bandy team won the Swedish national championship. This is the highest award a bandy team can win in Sweden.
- They also reached the national final game in both 2008 and 2010. In all three of these championship games, they played against a team called AIK.
Girls' U-17 Team Achievements
The younger players at IFK Nässjö also showed great talent. The U-17 girls' bandy team won the Swedish national championship twice. They achieved this in the 2004-2005 season and again in the 2005–2006 season.
Club Recognition
IFK Nässjö was recognized for its achievements in 2007. On August 18, 2007, the club was named "IFK club of the year 2006." This award celebrates the best IFK club for that year.
End of Women's Team
Sadly, the women's bandy team faced challenges. On August 23, 2011, the club announced that the women's team would no longer play in the top Swedish league. This decision was made because they did not have enough players.
